I'm really excited about this, it should be great fun.  We donated some free tickets for our show to Life FM and Pete from the Len and Pete show asked if we'd like to come in and have some fun with them on air one day.  If you've read my bio you'll know radio has been a fun hobby of mine in the past, and is actually where I honed many of my performance skills, so the thought of getting back in the studio and with two such fun guys is really something!

But, a ventriloquist on radio?  What is the point of that?  Did you know Edgar Bergen, one of the most famous ventriloquists ever, began his career as a radio ventriloquist.  Just goes to show there is more to ventriloquism than not moving your mouth, it is all about your puppet and their character.

Thinking of which, the though of Dudley being turned loose in a radio studio could be a worry.  I'll have to keep a close eye on him!

Check out this cool puppet made by one of the students at my school.  Owen was inspired by some of the designs on the activities page and came up with a puppet design all of his own.  Nice work, Owen, a very nifty design!

My brain is full of ideas I'd love to implement on Dudley's site, but I am learning to be content to do one thing at a time.  I am excited, though, because the new "activities and downloads" page is now live!  I'm hoping to regularly update this part of the site with fun activities for kids including craft, puzzles, puppet play scripts to put on their own shows.  If things get really serious I'd love to have some games there!  Wouldn't that be nice.  Baby steps, Andrew, baby steps.

Let me know what you think of the first activity.  It is a mini-Dudley puppet kids can make at home, although they will need a bit of help for one or two steps.  I made one for my kids and they love it, they have been practicing up their own Dudley concert all afternoon.  Leave a comment in the section below the blog, any feedback is most welcome.

For any aspiring ventriloquist it really is cool to be able to make a puppet you can bring to life.  This one is simple but the idea could be expanded on if a creative kid got their juices going.  The template could easily be adapted to make their own characters using the same basic idea for the moving mouth.

Andrew here.  Great to see you.  Just like you, I am one of Dudley's biggest fans.

Working with Dudley is an absolute hoot.  He is spontaneous and fun loving, and often bumbles through life making many of the mistakes we all do.  Dudley's mistakes may be a bit more "out there" but, more often that not, the lessons he learns are helpful for all of us.


Through working with Dudley I have met so many great people.  When I bump into them around the place they often ask what Dudley has been up to and whether they can see him again one day.  My hope is that through our website you can keep in touch with his adventures.  We are also keen to put on some shows, which we will promote through this site.

I hope you enjoy hanging out with Dudley as much as me.  I think this is going to be fun!
